Chasing My Tail

Chasing My Tail

Tired Soul

This was written when I had a stressful and mentally draining time. Circumstantially, things were pretty difficult, with no obvious resolution in sight. I think I needed to be propped up a bit by the God I know and pray to! Hard times do happen – there’s no point in shying away from that, but in those hard times, who will be the one you turn to...?

Sinking like a stone thrown from the shore.
No-one sees it,
The ripples are no more.
But you part the waters
And the stone is seen,
Then you replace it on the beach again.

One look at you and I go free.
Sometimes the load I bear is too heavy for me.

And I can feel like I’m falling -
Then won’t you please break my fall.
Sometimes it seems I’ve got no control of it -
Then won’t you please carry my tired soul.

Waiting to be thrown from the shore again,
Carelessly - then I would be no more.
I was wondering if this is all there is for me,
But in your eyes I found my faith again.

One look at you and I go free.
Sometimes the load I bear is too heavy for me.

And I can feel like I’m falling -
Then won’t you please break my fall.
Sometimes it seems I’ve got no control of it -
Then won’t you please carry my tired soul.
